This year’s theme is “Charting Your Course”. For the second year, Martignetti Companies has partnered with The Center for Women and Business at Bentley University. CWB will take the lead in two breakout sessions, Negotiating/Advocating for Yourself led by Professor, Dr. Donna Blancero and Mentoring, Sponsorship and Networking led by Executive Director Deb Pine and Senior Program Director, Trish Foster.
We are happy to welcome guest speaker Deirdre Mahlan, President of Diageo North America. Deirdre is responsible for the company’s largest market in terms of sales and operating profit. In this role, she oversees Diageo’s U.S. and Canadian spirits and beer businesses, which include brands such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Crown Royal, Ketel One, Captain Morgan, Baileys and Guinness. Deirdre has more than 20 years of experience in the consumer goods sector in a number of senior roles, primarily in the US with Diageo and Seagram.

Where do you live? Carver, MA
How long have you worked at Martignetti? Only 15 years, around here I’m a ‘short timer’.
What do you like about working at the company? It is a large company with a small company feel.
What do you like about working in the Wine and Spirit Wholesalers Industry? It has grown and changed so much, so I get to learn while I work. When I first started, we moved 6,000 cases a night, now we are up to 30,000. We invest in technology to make us more efficient and ‘green’. Recycling is a big part of our corporate culture, and we have solar panels on the roof; our operations are state-of-the-art.
